Can someone tell me what’s the difference between categories and post tags and which I should use for which?

  1. Hi,

    This is how I interpret categories and tags. Categories are descriptors that I use to identify my blog for others to find specific posts on the broad subjects. They are also used to help others find my blog. Every post has to have at least one category, even if it says uncategorized, that too is a category. My one category is abuse survivor, when I don’t want to add anything else.

    Tags are used to give more details about the post. I have one friend who does a great job of categorizing:

    You can see her categories and tags for any post by clicking onto the specific post and scrolling down towards the bottom of the page.
